Maereta Carpenter
Licensed Massage Therapist
J. Meareta Carpenter, Licensed Massage Therapist since 2011
Deep tissue is my specialty. I have extended studies in cranial sacral therapy, sports massage, myokinesthetics and enjoy spa greatments as well.
Massage is my passion. I knew I wanted to be a massage therapist when I received my first massage at Libby's Bathhouse in Hot Springs National Park at the age of 12. My mom would take my sister and I as a "mom and daughters date" on a regular basis. At the age of 17 I broke my back in a car accident and the doctors could not explain how I was walking. Having bone fragments in my spinal cord with L-1 crushed, I refused surgery. I did my own physical therapy with my mom. I had always done Callanetics with my mom every morning so we started there. She took me to get massages and to the chiropractor during my healing process. I also went to an acupuncturist for my pain management. We always eat nutrient dense foods, which gave my the tools it needed to heal. I was advised by doctors to stay home and not be too active which I listened to for 9 years. I could wait no longer and decided to go to massage therapy school. My own testimony is that I have had less back pain the last 11 years of practicing massage therapy than when I was staying at home as the doctors advised.
I carry this out in my practice with healing. I enjoy learning and sharing what I have learned to help my clients heal and have pain relief in daily life.
